However, the difference is that Apple gives three months’ free subscription, while Google gives the new users only 30 days of free usage. Another advantage of Apple’s service is that Apple Music can cover the entire family for just one subscription at $14.99. That means that you, your brother, sister, mother and father can all use Apple Music for the price of one and a half subscription.
Catalogue
Google Music has more than 30 million songs in its catalogue, and the service can stream them at 320Kbs. Apple Music works via iTunes, and the service reportedly has rights for approximately 30 million songs as well. The difference, Apple Music streams at lower quality at 256Kbs. However, Apple Music has the potential for getting tons of new songs and videos thanks to the Connect part. The feature allows the users to get videos, audios and songs that artists post to Instagram, Facebook, SoundCloud and much more.
Offline Access
To listen to music from the Google Music store, you do not need to have a working internet connection at the time. This gives the app a huge advantage, since sometimes you just don’t have a Wi-Fi signal, or you are out of network data. It is unknown whether Apple Music will offer offline access.
The Radio Advantage
One advantage Google Music has over Apple Music at the moment is the radio support. Google’s music service supports radio streaming service that is available in the US only for the time being. The radio service is free of adds, and will be available for smartphones by the end of July, both for the Android and iOS users. The service provides several radio stations you can listen as part of your paid subscription. Apple Music doesn’t have a radio service at the moment.
